Christmas Food Hampers for Colleagues!

At today’s “All Hands” meeting, Mini-Cam MD Tom Davies distributed Christmas Boxes to all colleagues as a thank you and token of appreciation for their hard work during what has been an unusual and difficult 2020.

The food hampers have been supplied by online care package company wellboxes.co.uk, part of South Catering, a UK based, corporate hospitality provider supplying food to over 6,000 offices and workplaces since 2006.

Wellbox was started in 2020 during the pandemic to partner with homeless shelters and food banks in various UK cities. For each WellBox sold, they donate one meal, or one meal worth of provisions to someone in need.

It’s estimated that over 4,100 people sleep rough on any given night in the UK. In March 2020,the COVID-19 pandemic left many homeless and vulnerable people without their usual sources of help and funding. Anyone who has walked through a city centre in the months that followed, understood just how difficult it was for people sleeping rough. Many of the private charities they relied on, saw funds frozen or on hold, in addition to donations from businesses either being reduced or stopped completely as many companies struggled for their own survival. In addition, social distancing meant normal food shelter setups were no longer suitable to provide hot meals without being adapted to a new way of operating.

Mini-Cam have chosen to support the homeless in Manchester and Salford, so for every box we ordered, we’ll be supporting this good cause by providing a hot meal to help 65 less fortunate people living on the streets of Manchester and Salford this winter.
